Moods

Moodiness, including anxiety and depression come with the turf of hormonal changes, and is the second leading complaint that brings women to our clinic behind their hot flashes and night sweats.  However, sometimes mood alterations can be independent from hormonal changes are require a more in-depth workup.  People may find themselves in a quagmire, unable to get through daily tasks.  They may be eating more or eating less, sleeping more or sleeping less.  This inertia can take hold in many forms and sometimes be often precipitated by a familial history, substance abuse/chemical dependency, or overt change in biochemistry.  Caffeine, alchool and nicotine and many medications may compound these symptoms.

At Bridger Natural Medicine Clinic, the aim is to find cause of the mood changes, be they hormonal, situation or life-style induced (like recent death, financial, work oriented, family related), biochemically related, or combination therein.  We work and collaborate with local counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists and refer to those services when they are needed.  This includes the use of prescription medications when medically indicated.

Tests can be run to help identify neurotransmitter status, such as a non-invasive urine Neurotransmitter Test for various mood disorders including anxiety and depression.  These are comprehensive neurotransmitter tests that look at levels of:  Serotonin, GABA, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, Glutamate, Glycine, Histamine, and Phenelthyamine.  These are highly sensitive tests that serve to be both clinically and effectively relevant tool to provide insight into each patient's unique symptom picture.

Testing provides a tool to understand each patient's specific neuroendocrine imbalances, which can be corrected with nutraceuticals, bio-identical hormone therapy, diet, and lifestyle interventions.

Applicable to both female and male patients, a neurotransmitter test will help direct treatment for:
